How sick and carer's leave builds up

  • It accumulates progressively from your first day, based on your ordinary hours.
  • A 38-hour week earns 76 hours a year; a 19-hour week earns 38 hours.
  • Unused leave carries over each year and is not paid out when you leave.
  • Casual employees get no paid sick leave, but can take unpaid carer's leave.

For holidays, which work differently and are paid out when you leave, use the annual leave calculator.
